Top quality clinical care is our priority.  For more than 2 years we have been amongst the best performing ICUs in Australasia, and probably the world.

The Alfred ICU is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence in research.  Since 2011, the Alfred ICU has produced more than 85 publications annually, more than 129 in 2014. Read More

In that time, we have had a minimum of $25M in active research each year, with at least $5M in new research funds each year. Read More

We believe we have become the premier site for Intensive care training in Australasia.   To share our experience and learnings with the wider ICU community, we have developed a highly regarded post graduate educational program, which in 2013-14 consisted of 32 events over 59 days attended by >1300 clinicians, with an increasing proportion of interstate and overseas doctors.
