The Alfred Hospital Intensive Care Unit is one of Australia's leading Intensive Care Units. It is a university attached quaternary referral centre, providing State Services for trauma, burns, heart & lung transplantation, artificial heart technology, ECMO, bone marrow transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, HIV and hyperbaric medicine.

The Intensive Care is a dynamic Department with 16 Intensivists who manage approximately 2000 patients per year. A new state of the art 45 bed ICU facility opened in late 2008. More information about the department is available at www.alfredicu.org.au

Applicants must be legally qualified medical practitioner, registered or registrable with the Medical Practitioners' Board of Victoria, and hold Fellowship with the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or equivalent).
