We are delighted to announce that after an extensive national and international search, Steve McGloughlin has been appointed as Director of ICU & Hyperbaric Medicine for Alfred Health.

Steve joined the Alfred in 2011 as a Consultant Intensivist and became one of our ICU Deputy Directors in 2016.  He has a diverse clinical background, having worked in a number of intensive care units across Australia and also as a senior clinician for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.   In addition, Steve has a Masters in Public Health & Tropical Medicine and  works at the Alfred as an Infectious Diseases Physician.  More recently he has developed an interest in health management and is currently completing an International Masters of Health Leadership through McGill University in Canada.

It would be remiss of us not to sincerely thank both Jamie Cooper who has very ably steered the ICU for almost 12 months through a period of significant change and also Tim Leong, who more recently has acted as Director while Jamie has been on sabbatical leave.

I know you will join with us in congratulating Steve on his new role, which he starts on Monday 22 May.

Kind regards

Lee & Tim
