Alfred Trauma ICU is one of 3 intensive care "pods" within the Alfred ICU. There are 15 physical bed spaces dedicated to Trauma ICU patients, with additional capacity to manage trauma patients in other pods when needed.
Alfred Hospital is one of only two Victorian adult trauma hospitals, providing specialist state services for the majority of Trauma patients in Victoria, Australia. The Alfred is the largest Trauma Centre in Australia receiving around 1100 admissions with major trauma (ISS>15) annually, of which over 600 are admitted to the ICU.

VSTORM is the Victorian State Trauma Registry, and is run by Professor Peter Cameron at Monash University. It collects demographic and outcome data on all major trauma patients in the state. VSTORM has documented the performance of the Victorian State Trauma System since its inception in 2000, and provides a data set to support progressive improvements to the system.

The Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth or P.A.R.T.Y Program is a trauma prevention program designed for senior school students.
On Thursday the 10th November the Alfred will host the PILOT of P.A.R.T.Y. 4 Defence, a collaborative venture with HMAS Cerberus to trial P.A.R.T.Y. with 18-25 year old trainees.
