This two day internationally accredited course has been developed to standardise the teaching of cardiac arrest and resuscitation management. The ALS2 course consists of lectures, practical workshops and cardiac arrest scenarios, providing the opportunity to practice skills and apply knowledge. The course will emphasise the importance of teamwork prior to safe transfer into a critical care environment.

The ALS2 Recertification course consists of lectures, practical workshops and cardiac arrest scenarios, providing the opportunity to practice skills and update knowledge.

The course builds on online pre-course learning materials with interactive ‘hands on’ practical sessions and at least twelve different simulation scenarios that run the full gamut of airway crises in the critically ill. The faculty includes multi-disciplinary experts in the management of the critically ill airway, who are also enthusiastic expert educators and simulationists.

Accredited by CICM: This course is designed for Trainees in the early stages of Intensive Care Medicine training, providing a comprehensive foundation in the knowledge and skills required for safe and effective practice in the intensive care unit. It delivers current, evidence-based content that reflects modern intensive care practice, supporting participants to engage confidently and competently in clinical care.

The Alfred ICU Echocardiography faculty is proud to present the “Alfred Comprehensive Critical Care Echocardiography (ACCCE) course” created specifically for the critical care doctor wishing to advance their transthoracic echocardiography skills and knowledge beyond a basic level 1 study. The course syllabus is primarily case based, with a series of lectures, practical scanning and dynamic interactive tutorials designed to articulate the concepts necessary for comprehensive image interpretation and to stimulate critical thinking.

The Adult Foundation ECMO Course is designed for doctors, nurses, perfusionists, and allied health professionals seeking to develop a foundational understanding of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the management of patients with severe cardiac and respiratory failure. The course has been endorsed by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) as an Adult Comprehensive Simulation-Based Course, meeting Step 1 and Step 2 criteria for E-AEC accreditation. The program is tailored to a broad range of clinicians, from those with little or no prior ECMO experience to those who have been involved in the care of ECMO patients. It provides comprehensive coverage of key aspects of ECMO practice, including underlying physiology, patient selection, and the management of complications and emergencies.
